Matthew Schultz Earns Benefit Auctioneer Specialist Designation
This update was posted on Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 at 10:00 pm.
UPSALA, MN – With over $15.6 billion raised through charity-benefit auctions in 2006, more and more non-profits and charities are turning to professional auctioneers to help them raise donations in support of their causes.
Matthew A Schultz recently earned the Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation. The National Auctioneers Association (NAA) Education Institute coordinates the Benefit Auctioneer Specialist designation program. The BAS program trains auctioneers to enhance their benefit auction services. Coursework focuses on the fundraising components of the benefit auction event, item acquisition, audience development, contractual agreements, and public relations. A newly developed designation, there are less than 100 auctioneers across the country who have acquired the BAS professional designation.
Schultz has been a licensed auctioneer since 2000 and is a member of the Minnesota State Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers Association. He has conducted nearly 100 benefit auctions since the fall of 2001, which include over 50 Ducks Unlimited Events. He is an Associate Auctioneer of Kurt Johnson Auctioneering, which specializes in fundraisers, and an Auctioneer for Schultz Auctioneers Landmark Realty, Inc. based in Upsala MN.
