Our History
Schultz Auctioneers Landmark Realty, Inc. was founded by Mike Schultz in 1978. That year he went to auction school at World Wide College of Auctioneering. Shortly thereafter, he booked his first auction. The auction was for a neighboring farmer. From that humble beginning, we have grown into one of the Midwest’s premier auction and real estate companies. We are now celebrating our 30th year in the auction industry and 24th year in the real estate business.
In 1984, Mike and Jan opened up their own real estate brokerage Landmark Realty. By doing so they formed the predecessor to Schultz Auctioneers Landmark Realty, Inc. Since 1984, Landmark Realty has specialized in residential, lake shore, recreational, farm and commercial properties across Morrison, Todd, and Stearns County. As the business grew, Jim and Sally Waltman opened a Landmark Realty office in Swanville. Today, there are two real estate offices - Upsala and Swanville. We continue to work in all areas of real estate, and specialize in lake shore, recreational and farm properties. We also do a large amount of business centered around the local communities and residential properties.
Our headquarters are located in Upsala, Minnesota, and we have a second real estate office in Swanville, Minnesota. We are recognized as an award winning auction company throughout Minnesota. We routinely sell real estate at auction and through traditional listing throughout Minnesota. We are also recognized for our specialty auctions with our marquee event being the Spring Rendezvous held the first Saturday in March each year.
